Use my Dell laptop as a CCtv security system?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with a built in webcam. This can be set with a motion detector. I would like to fit an external camera for security purposes again with motion detection. Does anyone know of such a system at a budget cost.Thanks
Yes, you can buy software that will record based on motion detection - something like http://www.digi-watcher.com and http://www.felenasoft.com/webcamlooker/ might do the job - but to do it right, check out http://www.securitycameratutor.com - that site has a great article on home webcam security with remote monitoring over the web.
